Stallion Laguna FC produced a 2-0 win over One Taguig FC for its second straight win in the Philippines Football League at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium last Sunday.
Midfielder Ricki Sendra opened the scoring for the Stallions after a header in the 23rd minute via a free kick from Finn McDaniel.
The Stallions were reduced to 10 men after Juan Trujillo was shown a red card in the 44th minute after pushing Taguig’s Amiel Amita to the ground.
Another Stallion midfielder in Abraham Placito then made it 2-0 for Stallion after hitting a header off a McDaniel free kick in the 75th minute.
Stallion goalkeeper and Man of the Match Rodolfo Llamas said the teamwork after the red card allowed the squad to keep its advantage in the game.
“It was a real team effort. We went down a ma early but we kept our composure and we just organized well,” Llamas said.
“That was the biggest thing. We played as a team which we really need to do.”
