Jarvey Gayoso produced seven goals as defending champions Kaya FC-Iloilo went up to the top of the table after inflicting a 9-0 beating on Tuloy FC in Wednesday’s second fixture at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.
Kaya overtook Stallion in the standings by virtue of an improved goal difference of +42 and with a game in hand, while Tuloy remained in 11th place with six points.
Kaya were on the front foot inside the first 15 minutes. Gayoso pounced on the left flank, going past Haren De Gracia before slotting it past Michael Antilo, Jr in the eighth minute before Shuto Komaki doubled the advantage in the 13th minute with a half-volley from just outside the box.
Gayoso ended the first half with three more goals in the 41st, 45th, and second minute of first half stoppage time to complete his hat-trick and put Kaya up by five goals at the half.
The Kaya forward continued where he left off, scoring in the 56th, 63rd, and 75th minutes to increase his tally to 17 goals this season before Audie Menzi wrapped things up with Kaya’s ninth in the 83rd minute.
