Andres Aldeguer fired two goals as the Azkals Development Team defeated Maharlika Manila, 4-1, in Saturday’s Philippines Football League brought to you by Qatar Airways last Saturday, 25 February 2023 at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.

Using the league as the team’s preparations for the 32nd Southeast Asian Games, ADT have now won five straight victories dating back from last year to go 18 points in the standings, just behind third placed Dynamic Herb Cebu FC.

Dennis Chung put ADT ahead in the 15th minute. The returning Oliver Bias picked out the forward, who was free inside the box and finished it past goalkeeper Javier Coscolluela.

However, Maharlika Manila struck right back five minutes later. Endo Ndour, who’s playing his first match for Maharlika, broke free from the defense and slotted his effort past Quincy Kammeraad.

Aldeguer, who had numerous chances on goal, finally found the back of the net in the second minute of first half stoppage time. The forward was left unmarked for the free header after he was found by Bias, who delivered the inviting cross.

ADT would score two more goals in the second half to complete the rout. Aldeguer fired home a volley in the 72nd minute, and the debuting Patrick Grogg finding the back of the net off the rebound in the 83rd minute
