Following a couple of lopsided losses to begin their PFL season, 10-man Loyola FC finally broke through with a 5-1 win over DB Garelli United FC in Saturday’s first match at Rizal Memorial Stadium.

Buoyed by their upset win over Mendiola last week, Garelli was primed to prove that it can challenge against the top sides.

However, Loyola came prepared and found the back of the net inside the first five minutes through Daisuke Kobayashi.

Emmanuel Kante doubled Loyola’s advantage two minutes before halftime.

New signing Jayvee Kallukaran made it three goals in the 54th minute followed by substitute Rupert Baña’s precise strike in the 66th minute.

Loyola finished the match with ten men after Kante was sent off for a second bookable offense.

Loyola veteran Jorrel Aristorenas added a fifth goal for Loyola in the 80th minute, before Jangobah Johnson scored a consolation goal in stoppage time for Garelli which lost for the third time in four matches.
