Jasten Lupango fired in two goals as he set the tone as Tuloy FC mounted an upset of Loyola FC, 6-2, in Saturday’s PFL action at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.
The defeat left Loyola FC in 8th place with 16 points, while, Tuloy FC, under the leadership of head coach Taketomo Suzuki, celebrates a significant leap in the standings from 13th place to 11th place highlighting their potential in the competitive landscape of the PFL.
From the outset, Tuloy FC asserted their dominance as Jasten Lupango opened the scoring in the fourth minute, capitalizing on a precise pass from John Loyd Jalique.
The early goal set the tone for Tuloy’s aggressive playstyle, nearly doubling their lead after when Cyrelle Saut’s cross narrowly missed John Sajor in front of goal.
Saut, however, made amends in the 8th minute, pouncing on a loose ball and converting it into Tuloy FC’s second goal of the game.
As Loyola struggled to contain Tuloy’s relentless attacks, Syron Saut added to the scoreline in the 11th minute with a sublime cross finding Lupango, who calmly slotted the ball into the far post.
Loyola managed to pull one back in the 38th minute as Franck Isaac Anoh, who came back after missing the last five matches, capitalized on a rebound from a corner kick.
Tuloy struck again just before the break. Jalique’s dribbling skills left the Loyola defense scrambling, allowing John Sajor to chip the ball over the goalkeeper, extending their lead to 4-1.
In the second half, Loyola FC attempted a comeback with Takaya Harada scoring in the 59th minute, assisted by William Winter.
However, Jalique slotted Tuloy’s fifth goal in the 74th minute.
Disaster struck Loyola sa Teddy Travis was sent off in the 75th minute, which led to Tuloy’s sixth goal from a Syron Saut free kick.
