In their first league meeting in years, Loyola FC recorded a 5-1 win over Philippine Air Force FC in Saturday’s first fixture at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.
Five players were on target for Loyola as it maintained its run in the mid table in eighth place, while Air Force continued to struggle at the bottom of the standings.
William Winter gave Loyola the lead in the 27th minute. Jorrel Aristorenas placed a weighted ball in to the path of the forward for his fourth goal of the season.
David Asare scored Loyola’s second in the 39th minute with a long range effort which was not totally kept out by Mark Mendome.
Mauro Acot added a third goal in the 59th minute with a shot from outside the box that went in to the top corner.
Air Force would get a consolation from Jan Delariarte in the 71st minute before Jayvee Kallukaran and Franck Anoh chipped in a goal each late on.
