Substitute Jim Ashley Flores scored off a header three minutes from time as Manila Digger FC bounced back with a narrow 3-2 win over Tuloy FC in Sunday’s second PFL fixture at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.

Getting on the end of fellow sub Eric Giganto’s inviting ball, Flores made sure Digger walked away with maximum points after nearly squandering a two-goal advantage.

The win meant Digger stayed in the Top 6, level on points with Dynamic Herb Cebu and United City FC, but behind the two teams on goal difference.

Digger were quick to show their intent as Earl Pinero broke the deadlock two minutes into the match after following up Daiki Jahana’s saved strike.

Jahana doubled Digger’s lead in the five minutes into the second half, firing a low shot to the bottom corner after Tuloy failed to clear their lines.

Tuloy battled back with two quickfire goals thanks to Syron Saut who struck after he was set up John Lloyd Jalique in the 52nd minute.

Jasten Lupango equalized six minutes later, but just when it looked like the two teams were ready to share the points, Flores, who returned to action after a three-week absence, delivered the match winner.

Tuloy remained in 11th place with six points.
