It’s not just the clubs that are preparing for the fourth season of the Philippines Football League brought to you by Qatar Airways.
About 15 referees, assistant referees and referee assessors have also stepped up their preparations for the season by participating in the two-day practical training starting Saturday at PFF National Training Center in Carmona, Cavite.
The practical session is the second part of the PFL Referees Refresher Course which was first conducted last August 2020 in various parts of the country.
There are currently 10 PFF Referees and Assistant Referees and 5 PFF Referee Assessors attending the two-day practical session.
The course augurs well for the match officials as they prepare for kickoff of the 2020 PFL season.
PFL Commissioner Coco Torre hailed the efforts undertaken by the PFF Referees Department in ensuring that match officials are prepared for the challenges of the season.
“With the PFL teams already having their training sessions, it is important also that our PFL referees are also holding practical sessions,” said Torre. “We cannot overemphasize the importance of our referees in the success of the PFL.”
