The Philippines Football League brought to you by Qatar Airways was awarded a citation by the Philippine Sportswriters Association during the PSA Annual Awards night last Saturday 27 March 2021.
The league, which ran from 28 October until 9 November 2020, was one of only four professional competitions to be allowed by the national government to be held despite the COVID-19 pandemic.
Six teams competed in the competition under a bubble format, from 28 October until 9 November 2020 with United City FC crowned as league champions.
PFL Commissioner Coco Torre thanked the PSA for the citation.
““We thank the Philippine Sportswriters Association for giving citation to the Philippines Football League,” said Torre. “We share this award to the stakeholders who made this event possible. the PFF, Qatar Airways, Games and Amusements Board, the PFL Clubs, medical teams, media, and most importantly the fans, for their relentless support to the league for the past four seasons. We take this recognition as an opportunity to continuously build on the league in the coming seasons.”
