Maharlika Taguig FC pulled off a shocking 2-0 win over Davao Aguilas-UMak FC in the Philippines Football League at the Biñan Football Stadium in Laguna Sunday.

This is Maharlika’s first win over Davao since joining the league in 2020.

Maharlika captan Serge Kaole drew first blood in the 37th minute with an easy tap-in goal thanks to an assist from Ahmad Saidy inside the penalty box.

In the 50th minute, Darlton Digha made it 2-0 after his second header.

Maharlika improved to a 2-2-5 win-draw-loss record.

Kaole said this win was a team effort against one of the tougher teams in the PFL.

“Getting a win wasn’t easy but credit to the team. They gave everything on the field,” Kaole said.

“Tactically, he (head coach Jung Donggyu) gave us the adjustments. We followed him and it worked.”

“We’re going to enjoy this night but we will get back to work together.”
