Shuto Komaki led Kaya FC-Iloilo to a 4-1 victory over Maharlika Taguig FC in the Philippines Football League at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium last Saturday.

Komaki, who scored a brace and an assist, bagged the Man of the Match honors as the defending champions finally got their first win of the season for a 1-1-0 win-draw-loss record.

The 24-year-old winger wasted no time on the pitch as he gave Kaya a 1-0 lead in the sixth minute after hitting a right-foot volley off an assist from Janjan Melliza.

James Sunday was supposed to deflect a pass from Komaki in the 10th minute but the ball went into the net instead, resulting in an own goal and a 2-0 lead for Kaya.

Komaki was able to pass the ball to Jovin Bedic for the tap-in and made it 3-0 for the Lions.

Darlton Digha tries to pump life for Maharlika after a screamer in the 23rd minute on the bottom-right corner of the net of Kaya.

But Komaki made sure Kaya would walk away with the win as he was able to score a tap-in in the 75th minute off a defensive lapse on Maharlika for the 4-1 lead.

“I think this was a good game for us. I was able to score and assist as well,” Komaki said.
