Stallion Laguna FC notched their sixth win of the season after coming from behind to defeat Manila Digger FC, 2-1, in a thrilling encounter last Saturday at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.
Finn McDaniel continued his fine form with two goals to hike his season tally to 14 goals as Ernie Nierras side remained in first place with 19 points, ahead of Davao Aguilas UMak FC on goal difference.
Manila Digger are pegged in sixth with 15 points.
Jerome Marzan gave Manila Digger a shock as he bundled the ball home after the Stallion defense denied the chances from both Salifu Jatta and Daiki Jahana.
Stallion got their equalizer at the stroke of halftime with Theo Oliveira de Moraes setting up McDaniel in the middle, slotting the ball past Yuya Kuriyama on the bottom corner.
Stallion took the lead in the 51st minute with Junior Sam earning a penalty off a foul by Jimson Crestal. McDaniel collected his 14th goal of the season by converting from the penalty spot.
Abraham Placito almost added another goal in the 84th minute from McDaniel’s corner but Kuriyama was there to send his effort over the bar.
