Gabriel Silva’s aerial dominance led Stallion Laguna FC to a 3-0 victory over Maharlika Taguig FC in Saturday’s PFL Action at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.

It was the battle between the third placed team in Stallion and ninth-placed Maharlika, where Stallion, on 29 points, maintained their pace on leaders Kaya FC-Iloilo and Dynamic Herb Cebu.

A scoreless first half saw Maharlika gain confidence going to the second half, but Stallion came to life three minutes into the second half when Gabriel Silva headed in a corner from Juan Galeana Trujillo’s pass, giving Stallion Laguna a 1-0 lead.

Silva struck again just nine minutes later, with another corner from Trujillo to double Stallion’s tally.

Ernie Nierras’ side sealed the victory in the 63rd minute when Jacob Peña slid in to convert a through ball from Matheus Oliveira De Moraes.

Maharlika’s best chance came from Lucas Del Rosario, who fired off target, while Junior Sam’s late attempt for Stallion Laguna was saved by Maharlika goalkeeper Jay Mendez deep in stoppage time.
