Stallion Laguna FC returned to winning ways after dispatching Mendiola FC 1991, 6-1, in Saturday’s second PFL match at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.

Mexican winger Juan Galeana Trujillo produced a hat-trick as Stallion moved back at the top of the table with 16 points, ahead of Kaya FC Iloilo on goal difference with a game in hand.

The loss kept Mendiola at ninth spot with seven points from seven matches.

Matheus Olivera de Moraes, Magson Dourado and Finn McDaniel were also on the scoresheet for coach Ernie Nierras’ side.

Stallion made the most out of their early dominance with Trujillo providing a clinical finish to McDaniel’s incisive pass.

The Laguna side would need to wait until the 52nd minute to double their advantage with De Moraes glancing home a corner from Trujillo.

Dourado added a third goal with a powerful shot from inside the area two minutes later after De Moraes’ saved effort rolled into his path.

McDaniel then got his 12th goal of the season from the penalty spot after De Moraes was clipped in the area by Jacob Tanamor who was booked for the challenge.

Argentinian midfielder Cristian Ivanobski then assisted Trujillo for his second goal in the 74th minute. There was time for Trujillo to grab his hattrick after he got on the end of a teasing ball from McDaniel.

Kirk See scored a consolation goal for Mendiola in the third minute of added time.
