Stallion Laguna FC returned to winning ways after a 3-0 win over Mendiola FC 1991 in Sunday’s Philippines Football League brought to you by Qatar Airways fixture last Sunday at the PFF National Training Center in Carmona, Cavite.

It was Stallion’s first win since October 8, 2022 when it defeated Maharlika Manila, 4-0, at the Biñan Football Stadium.

The Laguna side paraded its new players in the win with the returning Abraham Placito producing a man of the match performance at the back alongside the returning Patrick Deyto, who earned a clean sheet after missing Stallion’s last three matches due to suspension.

“I really wanted to get back to Stallion and I’m happy to be back,” said Placito. “There’s a lot of room for improvement, but I am here for the leadership role.”

Kraig Bonanken opened the scoring in the 35th minute. Rafael Nogueda made a run to the right flank and found the on-rushing midfielder, who fired a low effort past Michael Asong.

Troy Limbo doubled Stallion’s lead five minutes later. Bonanken was once again involved in the run of play, providing the assist for Limbo to finish.

Finn McDaniel completed the rout late into the match with a shot from the edge of the box after he was played on by Juan Galeana Trujillo.
