Stephan Schrock’s illustrious journey in the Philippines Football League brought to you by Qatar Airways will continue, for the next three years.
2020 PFL champions United City FC announced on Thursday, 11 March 2021, the resigning of midfielder and team captain Stephan Schrock which will see him lead the club until 2024.
“Every team needs leadership and a strong captain and United City FC is proud to have one of the finest in the world of football on its roster for at least the next 3 seasons,” read the club’s statement.
Schrock’s return puts an end to months of speculation about the next chapter of his career as he will reinforce a squad hungry to impress in both domestic and continental competitions.
“My career is a career that has never been done before in the long history of the beautiful game in my mother’s country,” said Schrock in a heartfelt statement. “I’m very happy and honored to continue to go down that path for another couple of years with United City FC.”
A talismanic figure for both club and country, Schrock has been a massive part of the club’s rise as a perennial contender with four PFL titles, one Copa Paulino Alcantara, one AFC Cup ASEAN Zone title, and two PFL Golden Ball awards.
With a fresh three-year deal, Schrock is ready for the bigger challenge which to clinch more championships for the club, and to represent the country in the AFC Champions League.
There will be milestones set in the near future, historic events that may change the game forever,” added Schrock. “The first ever AFC Champions League season for a Filipino club and another couple of trophies for us to pick up in the PFL. I’m here to stay.”
United City also announced the return of defender Miggy Clarino and midfielder Tristan Robles to the lineup to complement the other signings from the past few days which include forward Bienvenido Marañon, midfielder Mike Ott, and goalkeeper Anthony Pinthus.
