A 10-man Cebu squad pulled off a 2-0 win over PFF Youth National Team in their Philippines Football League game at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium last Sunday.
Things did not start well for the Gentle Giants after Roberto Corsame got booked with a red card in the 21st minute after swinging an elbow on John Jalique while trying to get the ball.
Sam Strong finally broke the drought in the 86th minute with a header via an assist from Charles Dabao.
Lorenzo Genco led the counter attack for Cebu and outpaced two defenders to score in the 95th minute to pick up their second win of the season.
Strong was named Man of the Match and he admitted Cebu had a hard time dealing with the national team.
“They’re a good team but again, us going down a man didn’t help us so it was a tough game,” said Strong. “We just want to get as many wins as possible and do well not only in the domestic league but in the Champions League (ACL2).”
