Jimuel Ariola produced two goals as Philippine Army FC dispatched Tuloy FC in Saturday’s Philippines Football League action at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.
The win saw Army leapfrog Tuloy in 11th place, only behind 10th placed Mendiola on goal difference.
Tuloy, who were reeling from a 0-9 loss to Kaya last Wednesday, were on the front foot in the 13th minute. John Lloyd Jalique converted from the spot after an Army defender handled the ball inside the box.
However, Army drew level in the 38th minute. Ariola fired his free kick to the top corner that left Tuloy goalkeeper Ronie Wale beaten.
Jalsor Soriano made it 2-1 for Army three minutes into the second half. Wale mistimed his reception, allowing the Army defender to head home the free kick, before Ariola scored his brace in the 61st minute with a chipped effort past Wale.
Tuloy answered back seven minutes later from John Sajor, but Roynick Bernardo added a fourth goal for Army right before full-time.
