Stallion Laguna missed the chance to retake the lead in the standings after settling for a 1-1 draw against United City FC in Sunday’s Philippines Football League at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.

Jose Bezerra Dourado cancelled out Troy Limbo’s opener as Ernie Nierras’ side slid down to fourth with 20 points while United City are in sixth with 16 points.

Limbo gave United City the shock lead in the 39th minute. Ricki Sendra nodded home Paolo Bugas’ cross to the path of Limbo, who converted from close range.

Needing to score to stay alive in the title race, Stallion, who missed forward Finn McDaniel due to national team duty, took the game to United City in the second half and was rewarded when Dourado headed from close range after he was found by Matheus Oliveira De Moraes in the box.

Both sides had the chance to claim the three points right before full time but ultimately the result held on as both teams shared the points.
