Captain Ricky Sendra, Ariel Ngeukam and Mark Hartmann netted two goals each as United City overpowered Manila Montet FC, 10-0, in last Sunday’s opening PFL fixture at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.
Not even the torrential rain that delayed kickoff for 15 minutes could stop United City from running riot as the 2020 champions continued their winning run.
United now have 15 points after five straight wins, but they are in fifth spot behind Dynamic Cebu on goal difference.
United City began the rampage in the 11th minute with Sendra scoring off a cross from Paolo Bugas. Ngeukam added the second five minutes later with Bugas again the provider.
Kofi Bini slotted the third goal of the match in the 23rd minute with a header off a Hartmann free kick. Montet did well enough to hold United to just three goals at the half, but Bugas completed a hat-trick of assists in the 52nd minute after setting up Darlton Digha for UCFC’s third.
Sendra and Ngeukam scored their second goals just minutes apart, before Hartmann made his own contribution on the scoresheet heading home a Troy Limbo cross and firing a free kick to the top corner.
Bugas put the icing on top of his Man of the Match performance rifling home a rocket from distance.
There was time for Haji Nurhidayat to add gloss to the scoreline with a well-placed header late on.
