Unfazed in their first two Philippines Football League brought to you by Qatar Airways 2022/23 fixtures, Kaya FC-Iloilo and United City FC look to make it three straight wins as the league’s first triple header takes place Saturday 20 August 2022 at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium in Manila.

The Azkals Development Team, which yielded to Kaya FC-Iloilo on opening day, take on Maharlika Manila FC in the first game at 3:00 PM. ADT, which is now led by national team stalwart Stephan Schrock, hopes that they can finally show their potential against Maharlika.

“For ADT as a team and for every single individual in the team, it’s important to first get a winning mentality,” said Schrock. “These are grown-ups, 16 to 21 years old, and we have to establish first something like a winning mentality and that’s what we’re building at the moment.”

The second match sees Kaya battle Mendiola FC 1991 at 5:30 PM. Buoyed by their wins over ADT and Dynamic Herb Cebu FC, coach Yu Hoshide is raring to see his players show that they are capable of being in the starting XI.

“Most of our players deserve to be starting, but I can only choose eleven players. Sometimes I’ll rotate in order to avoid injuries, but the quality is still there,” said Hoshide. “That’s why every training is very important for us. If players show well in training, they can play. It’s simple, but difficult to choose.”

The last match sees United City take on Dynamic Herb Cebu FC at 8:00 PM. United City are on a run having scored 10 goals in their last two fixtures while Dynamic Herb Cebu are reeling from their 0-3 loss to Kaya last week.

All three matches will be shown live on the league’s Facebook and YouTube channels and fans are encouraged to watch live at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.
